Don't bother screaming "Get over here" at Kevin Tancharoen: The filmmaker is absolutely done with the Mortal Kombat universe.

Tancharoen, director of the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth viral video and its subsequent Mortal Kombat: Legacy webseries, was previously attached to helm the Warner Bros. franchise's big-screen reboot. But not anymore: According to a message he wrote on Twitter, Tancharoen's days fighting alongside Scorpion, Sub-Zero and the rest of the legendary tournament's competitors are over.

"After 3 years of Kombat,I've decided to move on to other creative opportunities," he wrote. "I wish everyone involved in the movie big success. Thanks!"

It's unknown who will succeed Tancharoen as the Mortal Kombat director, or how the movie will proceed at all in his absence. Further, it's unclear what Tancharoen's "other creative opportunities" are. For his part, the director tweeted shortly before walking away from Kombat: "Anyone out there an up and coming animatic artist?" Whatever he's planning, Tancharoen is already ready to work.
