Valiant Entertainment has given CBR an exclusive first look at the covers for Ray Fawkes, Jeremy Haun, Nick Filardi and Clayton Cowles' The Final Witness #1, an upcoming crime noir comic.
In addition to the preview, Valiant provided quote about the covers from editor Heather Antos. "Crime noir is all about selling a sense of 'mood,'" Antos said. "so when it came to coming up with cover concepts for this murder mystery thriller that was at the forefront of everyone's minds. And if there's one thing this batch of cover artists know best, it's how to capture tone in a single image. But it's also about fun -- this is comics, after all -- which is why we're introducing the 'Decoder' variant; a very special cover that upon further inspection, will unlock a very important clue about who is behind the streak of murders that is terrorizing the Valiant Universe."
You can see the covers which are by Rahzzah, Michael Walsh, Caspar Wijngaard and Jeremy Haun, respectively. The 'Decoder' variant is not included among these images.
The Final Witness follows four characters who band together to solve a murder in San Francisco: a detective, an investigative journalist, an arsonist and a new superhero, who has connections to a villainous figure. Although The Final Witness will start out as five-issue miniseries, the story may still continue beyond that run.
The Final Witness will debut in early 2020 from Valiant Entertainment.
