WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Final Space Season 3, Episode 13, "The Devil's Den," which aired Saturday on Adult Swim.

Final Space's third season came to an end. While a fourth has yet to be announced, the season finale, "The Devil's Den," offered up some storylines for future exploration. Following a season spent inside the final space dimension, the Galaxy Two team escaped after many tribulations, including Little Cato finding out the truth and getting kidnapped by Ash, the deaths of many allies -- Fox, Clarence, Bolo and Kevin Van Neuton -- and having an old foe turn into a Titan. Despite escaping, they have much bigger problems now that Invictus holds a powerful form.

Avocato struggled with keeping the secret that he is not Little Cato's birth father but the man who killed his parents and took the young prince in as his own. While he and Gary tried their best to keep the truth hidden, Ash overheard them discuss it and told Little Cato. "The Devil's Den" had Avocato face his son and tell him the truth, which angered the boy until his father let him know he loves him and cares for him. With the team back home, Little Cato could return to Ventrexia and claim his rightful throne, bringing in a new age for the war-torn. With the Lord Commander trapped and his empire in ruins, peace can return.

Meanwhile, Quinn grappled with her own crisis after being healed from final space poisoning with the help of a device similar to the one Nightfall had. Throughout all the previous timelines, it was Gary who took the anti-matter bomb into the breach. However, in the Final Space timeline audiences have been following, Quinn took it in.

With this, it was assumed that Quinn couldn't possibly turn into Nightfall as her main mission was preventing Gary's death. With him alive, Nightfall does not need to exist. However, in a prerecorded message, Nightfall informed Quinn that she will not become someone else. She will evolve to the next stage of her life instead. This helped Quinn accept her fate, something she must deal with in Final Space Season 4.

On the Invictus side, Gary dealt the worst blow of all, with Ash grabbing Mooncake and sucking his life out to give Invictus enough power to be free from his chains. It was unclear if Mooncake died as the bridge closed. But if he did, Gary will stop at nothing to take down Invictus and Ash. It is something he might have to do anyway as it seems Invictus made his way to the main dimension in his Titan form, ready to kill everything. This could launch a battle between Invictus and the beings of the universe, or at least those who survive the onslaught.

Created by Olan Rogers, Final Space stars Olan Rogers, Tom Kenny, Tika Sumpter, Fred Armisen, Steven Yuen, David Tennant and Coty Galloway.
