The store page for the upcoming port of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade to PC reveals that it won't weigh too heavily on the hardware.

The Epic Games store announced the system requirements for the remake of the classic 1997 JRPG, posting a list of minimum and recommended specifications on the game's page. While it won't require a top-of-the-line unit to enjoy, the requirements still run into the territory of mid-range level desktops in terms of price. Fans will have to at least run an Intel Core i5 3330 processor, a GeForce GTX 780 graphics card and eight gigabytes of RAM to have a chance of playing Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on their systems. This is combined with the chunky 100 gigabytes of storage required for the game's files.

Final Fantasy VII Remake was released in 2020 for the PlayStation 4. The story centers around Cloud Strife, a former SOLDIER 1st Class turned mercenary. Though initially hired by eco-terrorists AVALANCHE for a bombing mission against the mega-company Shinra, it becomes clear that something older poses a greater danger to them all. The mightiest SOLDIER to have ever lived, Sephiroth, returns from death with aspirations of becoming a god by draining the planet of all life. Faced with this threat, Cloud and his group then embark on a journey to save the world.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is the first release in a series of episodic games aimed at completely recreating the original Final Fantasy VII with updated graphics and an Active Time Battle system. This entry in particular covers the game's starting events, beginning with Cloud's first mission with AVALANCHE and ending with the main group's departure from Midgar. While Final Fantasy VII Remake does mostly follow the plot of Final Fantasy VII, there were significant alterations and added elements that may eventually lead to it diverting entirely from the initial storyline.

The original Final Fantasy VII was released in 1997 as the debut Final Fantasy game for PlayStation. The game was the first of the franchise to use 3D graphics, blending the character models together with pre-rendered CGI backgrounds. Its use of cinematic cutscenes also helped popularize JRPGs, which were regarded as a niche genre before the game's release. Final Fantasy VII is now regarded as one of the most iconic and influential games in the industry, with critics praising its gripping story, memorable characters and enchanting music.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available for PlayStation 4. Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which is an enhanced version that includes the DLC "FF7R EPISODE INTERmission" featuring Yuffie Kisaragi, is available for PlayStation 5. The PC port for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is set for release on Dec. 16, 2021.
