Audiences are about halfway through Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having witnessed the introduction of powerful new characters and the ultimate power of some established ones. The MCU is more vibrant, varied, and vast than ever before. As such, fans are keen to see clashes between these characters with increasingly diverse power sets.

In a universe populated by deadly martial artists, master sorcerers, cosmic guardians, and quippy costumed heroes, the possibilities are truly endless. A few of these potential match-ups are so perfect that they simply need to happen before the MCU rolls its final set of credits. There are many fights that fans would like to see in the MCU.

10 Black Bolt Vs. Captain Marvel

Black Bolt Vs. Captain Marvel

Possibly the strongest Avenger, Carol Danvers has proven nigh-unbeatable in the MCU. Whether she's serving as a human torpedo, single-handedly annihilating armadas, or if she's tanking hits from the most dangerous threat the team has ever faced, Captain Marvel continuously shows fans that she's the best of the best.

If anyone could take her down a notch or two, it's Blackagar Boltagon. The Inhuman king (or at least a variant of him) has finally entered the MCU in full force - and he is gloriously powerful. Vaporizing Doctor Strange of Earth-838 with a single whisper, imagine the power he'd unleash to defeat the cosmonaut in an all-out battle.

9 Doctor Strange Supreme Vs. The Scarlet Witch

Strange Supreme Vs. Scarlet Witch

When the first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was unveiled after the credits of Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans were thrilled at the reveal of a variant Doctor Strange. It seemingly revealed the introduction of Strange Supreme from the Disney+ series What If…?

While this turned out to be a misdirection, fans can’t help but wonder what might’ve been; this character not only boasts a Lovecraftian power-set but could stand toe-to-toe with the Scarlet Witch. It would be overwhelming to see these unimaginably powerful magic entities square off, with Wanda’s devastating chaos magic rivaling Strange’s eerie horde of monstrous summons.

8 The White Vision Vs. War Machine

War Machine Vs. White Vision

White Vision is a clone of Vision, made using his remains after his death at the hands of Thanos. Now that S.W.O.R.D. has proven itself able to replicate sophisticated technology that improves upon the designs of Tony Stark, it would be fitting if Stark's friend were the one to keep their creation in check. It doesn't hurt either that the original Vision was somewhat responsible for Rhodey's paralysis.

Despite both being born from Stark inventions, they've since evolved in vastly different ways. White Vision seems to be Vision at his most powerful, embracing the ghostly abilities inherent in his coding. Rhodey, on the other hand, has continued to upgrade his artillery to the extent that he is essentially a one-man air force. A battle between them would be explosively unpredictable.

7 The Mighty Thor Vs. The Eternal Ikaris

Thor Vs. Ikaris

Thor: Ragnarok seemingly suggested that Thor was almost capable of defeating the Hulk. Avengers: Infinity War showed that he was merely a few feet from beheading Thanos, armed with the power of all six stones. It seemed as though no hero could match his power. Enter Ikaris.

The godly anti-villain and former member of the Eternals appears to have power relative to that of DC's Superman, his defeat requiring the full might and number of his former teammates. It would be thrilling to see this clash of cosmic titans within the MCU.

6 Xu Shang-Chi Vs. Moon Knight

Shang Chi Vs. Moon Knight

2021's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings brought a stylish new approach to combat to the MCU, allowing audiences to really grasp just how skilled its characters were at martial arts. Similarly, the Disney+ series Moon Knight showcased a brutal level of violence that fans hadn't seen since Daredevil.

Both Simu Liu and Oscar Isaac trained extensively to be able to execute the intense choreography the show required of them. A fight between these two would be a unique opportunity for audiences to see a fight between two beloved characters who are skilled hand-to-hand fighters.

5 James "Bucky" Barnes Vs. Baron Helmut Zemo

Bucky Barnes Vs. Baron Zemo

When fans last saw Baron Zemo, he was blissfully residing on the Raft as operatives - seemingly at his behest - rid the world of its remaining super-soldiers, except for John Walker and Bucky Barnes. Formerly known as the Winter Soldier, Bucky had previously been exploited and controlled by Zemo, who used him to tear the Avengers apart.

While Barnes was able to overcome his vengeance and allow the Dora Milaje to extradite the criminal, Zemo still has unfinished business. As long as one super-soldier remains, his quest to exterminate them festers. Fans also have yet to see Zemo in direct combat with any Captain America or their allies.

4 Mysterio Vs. Doctor Strange

Dr. Strange Vs. Mysterio

Now, given the sort of power that the former Sorcerer Supreme wields as well as the world-ending enemies he regularly thwarts, many fans immediately pin him as the defacto winner. Strange's true strength, however, is not sheer power but his ability to assess a situation.

Mysterio, armed with a fleet of Stark Drones, could subject the sorcerer to an overwhelming amount of firepower while using his VFX team to disorient and confuse him. If Spider-Man can outsmart Strange, surely the villain who ultimately outplayed the web-slinger could stand a chance.

3 Matt Murdock Vs. Jennifer Walters

Daredevil Vs. She-Hulk

Unlike other desired matchups, fans want to see these two engage in a contest of evidence, debate, and wordplay rather than fists and weapons. At least, for the most part anyway. Appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home and starring in an upcoming soft-reboot Disney+ series, Matt Murdock has finally been canonized within the MCU. Audiences are only weeks away from Jennifer Walters - aka She-Hulk - smashing her way into their homes with her own series.

These two lawyers would have a hard time overtaking one another in a court of law. It would ultimately come down to the case and/or the client they were defending/prosecuting. As such, it's hard to say who would better persuade the jury.

2 Deadpool Vs. Spider-Man

Deadpool Vs. Peter Parker

Wade Wilson and Peter Parker have a complicated, love/hate relationship in the comics that many readers enjoyed for its comedic potential. Two superheroes with two of the loudest mouths fighting one another would certainly lead to a wealth of jokes and quips - the likes of which the MCU has never seen.

Aside from that, both of their fighting styles are unpredictable, stylish, and wildly improvisational. Any fight choreographer would have an absolute field day putting this scene together, and fans would enjoy every second of it.

1 The Dark Avengers Vs. The New Avengers

New Avengers Vs. Dark Avengers (1)

Ever since Countess Valentina Allegra de Fontaine appeared in the final episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier to recruit John Walker, many fans couldn't help but imagine her assembling her own team of superheroes resembling the Dark Avengers or Thunderbolts from the comics. This theory was exacerbated when she appeared in Black Widow as Yelena Belova's contractor.

On the other hand, through Disney+ and some films, the MCU has been introducing new, younger heroes that may assemble themselves into a new iteration of the Avengers. If both these teams come to life within the MCU, it would be huge if they came to blows with one another. It would be as poetic as new heroes having to fight doppelgängers of their predecessors to prove themselves worthy of being earth's mightiest heroes.
