Female Ghostbusters Will 'Answer The Call' In New IDW Comic

Though the film future of the franchise reboot remains in doubt, the stars of Sony's 2016 Ghostbusters film have found success in the world of comic books. The crew has proved to be so popular, in fact, that following their team-up with Venkman, Stantz, Zeddemore and Spengler in Ghostbusters 101, the new crew of Holtzmann, Yates, Tolan and Gilbert will headline their very own IDW Publishing series.

Written by Kelly Thompson with art and covers by Corin Howell, the five-issue Ghostbusters: Answer the Call will pit the titular 'busters against a "truly terrifying Class VII" ghost that feeds on mankind's greatest fears.

"After the phenomenal success of teaming the 2016 Ghostbusters with the original Ghostbusters in our dimension-hopping Ghostbusters 101 series, we are very excited to bring fans all new Ghostbusters: Answer the Call adventures,” Editor Tom Waltz said in an official statement. “If Ghostbusters 101 proved anything, it’s that ‘busting feels good in any dimension, and we at IDW are honored to join Sony and Ghost Corps in continuing to expand the ever-popular Ghostbusters shared universe."
