With a starring role in the first Star Wars anthology film, Felicity Jones is about to reach a whole new level of exposure. Sure, her Oscar nomination for her role in "The Theory of Everything" gained attention, but nothing on the level of playing the lead freedom fighter in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." And, as sources have revealed to The Hollywood Reporter, it looks like Jones received a payday proportional to the massive Disney film.

THR's feature article on Jones reveals that "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" gave Jones her biggest paycheck to date -- reportedly a seven figure one. The unnamed source also says that Jones was the highest paid cast member by far. No other actor in the film "received even mid-six figures," the source says. As the lead of the film and the character at the center of its marketing, this makes sense.

This is a big deal as the continual pay gap between male and female actors has drawn attention in recent years. Stars like Jennifer Lawrence have called out the industry for not paying women as much as their male co-stars of equal -- or sometimes lesser -- billing. And Gillian Anderson has also spoken about how it took her years to earn as much money as her "X-Files" co-star David Duchovny.

In addition to her payday, the THR article also goes into how Jones prepared for the role of Jyn Erso. The actress made a "scrapbook" of inspiration for her criminal-turned-hero character, but she really found the spirit of Jyn in an unexpected place: Florence + the Machine music videos. Jones says she spent hours watching Florence lead singer Florence Welch perform, taking it in since "so much of Jyn is movement. It became a very important part of finding her. She walks almost a bit like a caged animal. Her fight sequences become like dances."

Directed by Gareth Edwards (“Godzilla,” “Monsters”) from a script by Gary Whitta and Chris Weitz, “Rogue One” stars Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna and Riz Ahmed.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” opens on December 16.
