WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Season 2 of Feel Good, now streaming on Netflix.

Netflix's Feel Good has thrown Mae (Mae Martin) down an emotional rabbit hole in its two seasons with the comedian trying hard in rehab and to make it work with her girlfriend, George (Charlotte Richie). However, she's facing immense pressure with her career, a fear of commitment and parents who constantly make her feel like she's still a thief and junkie.

Come the Season 2 finale, though, Mae finds resolution and clarity to life as she and George make an emotional trip from England to Canada.

Why Does Mae Break Down?

Mae's breaking mentally as she has to confront her best friend, Scott, for how he groomed her when she was 16 and he was in his 30s. It's part of her defense mechanism -- not to mention she wants to flee England as George turned down a public proposal at her school's play. George knows Mae's feeling inadequate but it's a knee-jerk reaction as Mae doesn't know her as well in their months of dating.

Admittedly, the polyamorous Elliott, George's ex and fellow teacher, goaded Mae into the proposal, knowing it'd alienate George and push her back to him. But while Mae's panicking as she packs back at the apartment, George doesn't break up with her. Instead, she wants to make the trip too as she can tell Mae needs her. Sure, Mae's been selfish, hogging the spotlight, but George puts aside how she's feeling more like a parent than partner.

What Happens to Mae in Canada?

Mae and George bond under the bird's eye of her parents, but as time passes, they realize George really does love her. It helps that their roommate, the quirky Phil, joined the trip, acting like a buffer. With trust building, Mae takes George on some adventures, including a gay nightclub to dance and kiss with other LGBT personnel to show George what it was like coming out early in life.

Mae also escapes her old drug dealer with George in a comedic chase, but she ends up at her old home which she shared with Scott. George tries to take her mind off it but as they try to have sex, Mae suffers an episode, and this panic attack reaffirms that she needs to stop avoiding the meeting with Scott, who has admittedly treated her well for their entire lives. The next day, she confronts Scott at the club and chides him for manipulating her. She parts ways -- though she still loves him -- feeling free of her trauma and secrets at last.

How Does It End for Mae and Her Loved Ones?

Phil bonds with Mae's parents, who realize they were too hard on Mae, blaming her for crimes when they should have been caring and lending support. The guilt sees them wanting a second chance, and seeing as Phil found out that his long-lost dad was dead, they form a new family of sorts. Mae's got George so it's a perfect fit and allows the trio to attain the sense of family they never really had over the years.

As for Mae and George, they head to a cottage in the woods and it ends with them on the jetty by a lake. Mae's relieved that George is there to help her through this difficult period, mending many fences internally too. She finally asks George to explain science such as photosynthesis, indicating she's ready to be selfless and the person George wants to move forward with. George is ecstatic and starts teaching Mae, giving them a happy ending as they're getting to know each other on a whole new intimate level.

Feel Good stars Mae Martin, Charlotte Ritchie, Lisa Kudrow, Phil Burgers and Adrian Lukis. Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
