At today's Comic-Con International panel for AMC's Fear the Walking Dead, showrunner Dave Erickson described the second half of the current season as “bolder, bloodier, and more zombies than we ever have before.” That might sound like a tall order for a show that's all about the early days of an undead apocalypse, but the traditional Comic-Con trailer backs Erickson's words up.

The midseason trailer confirms the heavier presence of more Walkers, shown swarming the survivors' camp. There's also the danger of infighting between the Ranch and Walker’s community, not to mention a heavy emphasis on the importance of sharing supplies vs. maintaining separate communities, all against the backdrop of Madison’s camp running out of water in six weeks while other members of the ranch insisting on arming themselves for protection.

Fear the Walking Dead started in 2015 as a spinoff the AMC’s highly successful The Walking Dead — based on the Image Comics series by Robert Kirkman, Charlie Adlard and Tony Moore — though it stars characters entirely new and not previously seen in either the main Walking Dead TV series or the comic book.

Created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson, “Fear the Walking Dead” stars Kim Dickens as Madison Clark, Cliff Curtis as Travis Manawa, Frank Dillane as Nick Clark, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia Clark, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia Salazar, Colman Domingo as Victor Strand and Danay Garcia as Luciana. The new season premieres Sunday, June 4, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
