"We were very excited about the new form the show took in the anthology format in Season 6, with telling more concentrated characters' stories," showrunner Ian Goldberg explained in June. "That will continue into Season 7. We will continue to tell the show in that structure, and in that format. That excites us, because like in Season 6, we're going to get to see a variety of different kinds of stories, different tones, different worlds within the episodes themselves, and we've been really happy with how that's been going so far."

Season 7 of Fear the Walking Dead premieres Sunday, Oct. 17 on AMC. Those who subscribe to AMC+, however, can catch the premiere several days early.
