Courtesy of Robert Kirkman's Skybound Entertainment, the images show Dwight looking worse for the wear, however, he does have his trusty axe in hand. We don't know if this means he'll be friend or foe, but fans are definitely waiting to find out if he did find his wife, Sherry, or if he's still continuing this hopeful journey.
In Season 8 of TWD, Dwight, after somewhat redeeming himself from his villainous days with Negan, was exiled by Norman Reedus' Daryl, which led to him setting out to see if Sherry survived after fleeing Negan's encampment. With Morgan (Lennie James) making the first transition to FTWD, there could be potential tension there as he was no fan of what Negan, Dwight and their buddies did during their time ruling over the alliance of Alexandria, Hilltop and the Kingdom.
FWTD has gone through major shakeups, with Season 4 seeing the deaths of Madison (Kim Dickens) and Nick (Frank Dillane), along with the addition of several new characters. The heroes went up against the vicious Martha and went through continued conflicts with the Vultures and Martha. It ended on a positive note as the group finds a new base and sets up a system designed to help other survivors, which could see them crossing paths with a wandering Dwight.
Apart from Dwight, the other images show Strand (Colman Domingo), Charlie (Alexa Nisenson), Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), Morgan, John (Garret Dillahunt), and June (Jenna Elfman). There are no clues provided as to what's happening in these images, apart from impending chaos, but according to TV Guide, the photo of Dwight is from the third episode. However, it could be that he arrives even sooner and we just don't know it yet.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 5 does not yet have a premiere date.
