The showrunners for Fear the Walking Dead have said there are currently no plans to wrap up the series despite the end being near for the two other AMC The Walking Dead series.

Ian Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss told ComicBook.com they have heard nothing from AMC about ending the show. However, they do have ideas about what the series' end would look like. "We have not had any specific conversations about when the show would end," Chambliss said. "We have our own ideas about how we think the show should conclude, but for right now, we're just going to keep telling the stories and do it for as long as AMC says to keep doing it."

Fear the Walking Dead is currently in its sixth season. After premiering as a prequel to The Walking Dead with a cast of new characters, events in the show now run concurrently with those of the franchise's flagship series. It has also seen characters from The Walking Dead crossover, including Lennie James' Morgan Jones.

The Walking Dead is set to end its run after its eleventh season, which will begin airing in 2021 and conclude in 2022. Another series in the post-apocalyptic zombie AMC franchise, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, premiered this year. That spinoff is slated to end its planned two-season run around the same time as The Walking Dead. While two of AMC's three zombie series are set to end, the network is also making plans to expand the franchise. A series of feature films will see Andrew Lincoln reprise the role of Rick Grimes. Additional shows, including an anthology series and a spinoff starring Carol and Daryl, have also been announced.

Airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC, Fear the Walking Dead is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple and showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg, as well as Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, Gale Anne Hurd and Greg Nicotero. The series stars Lennie James, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo and more.
