“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” alum Emma Caulfield has been tapped to guest star on the zombie apocalypse drama “Fear the Walking Dead” in the show’s upcoming third season.
According to TV Line, AMC has not yet revealed the identity or nature of Caulfield’s character or the number of episodes in which she would appear. The rumor mill has been abuzz, though, and the front running theory on which role Caulfield is most likely to fill is the much-talked-about villainess set to dominateSseason 3, who is liable to make characters like Nick and Luciana’s lives even more of a living hell.
Caulfield played the character Anya in “Buffy,” a vengeance demon who was turned human. Anya was a recurring character throughout the show’s third and fourth seasons before becoming a series regular in Season 5, sticking with the cast until the finale in 2003. Caulfield’s character also appeared in the comic book imagining of the show’s tenth season, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Ten.”
“Fear the Walking Dead” is a spinoff of “The Walking Dead,” AMC’s adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s zombie survivalist comic book series by the same name. “Fear the Walking Dead” stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam-Carey. The start date for the show’s third season has yet to be announced but is expected to begin airing this year.
