After joining the cast of Fear the Walking Dead, Austin Amelio has revealed he would like to see Daryl Dixon (played Norman Reedus) from the main Walking Dead series make an appearance in the spinoff as well.

When we last saw them, Daryl and Amelio's character, Dwight, were barely on speaking terms, even though they were working together against Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan. With The Saviors defeated, Daryl had to make a tough decision about what to do with Negan's right-hand man, who was also Rick's informant. During the Season 8 finale, Daryl threatened to end Dwight's life if he ever saw the former Savior again.

"Maybe Daryl, yeah," Amelio told BUILD Series upon being asked which Walking Dead character he would want to join the spinoff. "It'd be fun, mix it up a little bit."

During the recent episode 'Humbug's Gulch,' Dwight made his first appearance on Fear the Walking Dead. While crossing paths with Garrett Dillahun's John and Jenna Elfman's June, Dwight revealed he had been on the search for his missing wife, Sherry (played by Christine Evangelista), since falling out with the Saviors. On the brink of losing hope, Dwight is exhausted from his journey, agonizing over the messages his wife left behind.

Dwight then unexpectedly found himself reunited with Lennie James' Morgan. Harboring no ill will, Morgan said their heated rivalry was all in the past. Though all is forgiven with Morgan, Dwight still has personal demons to deal with, especially with the gnawing possibility he may never find his Sherry alive.
