Erishkigal finally made her anime debut in Fate/Grand Order - Absolute Demonic Battlefront: Babylonia. Soon after that, she was released into the western version of the Fate/Grand Order video game. Since then, she's had a resurgence in fan art that has appeared throughout the internet. Probably even more so than in her original debut in the Japanese version of the game.

The internet is utterly filled with great fan art of the adorably lonely Goddess of the Underworld. Each piece deserves recognition, as does the artists who created them.

10 Afternoon Afternoon By 中賀エリ

If there is one thing that all fans can agree on is that Erishkigal needs to get out of the Underworld. She does a great job running it but the girl needs some friends that aren't the spirits of the dead. Plus the whole Underworld mood is starting to get to her and it seriously affects her mood at times.

So here is 中賀エリ's rendition of how that might look like. Getting rid of her goddess attire and exchanging it for something a bit more casual for the Goddess of Death. She looks like she's having a good time away from the dreary realm she oversees.

9 Erishkigal (And Her Friend) By PretraII

The artist of this piece says that it didn't turn out how they imagined but it still looks truly strunning. It takes a look at Erishkigal in the Underworld and the only company she had in it.

Needless to say, PretraII seems to get the mood just right. The Underworld seems to be a dark dreary place and Erishkigal is not all that excited to be there. Then again, staying in a place where only the dead can keep someone company would bring anyone down.

8 Ereshkigal and Meslamtaea By It's You Dan

Battle mode Erishkigal. What makes Ereshkigal a lancer is that she is armed with the lance Meslamtaea. Which is another name for the soul of the god Nergal, which in typical Sumerian myth is her husband. Here... not so much so... Here it is a very strong pointed stick.

It may look oversized and unwieldy, but Erishkigal tends to handle it well. A fact that It's You Dan seems to understand in their artwork. She may not be as strong as Ishtar but she is pretty powerful in her own right.

7 Ereshkigal And Ishtar In Winter Clothing By ソゴム

Here are Erishkigal and her other half in winter clothing. Seems like the goddesses can look good in whatever they wear, no matter if it's their usual Sumerian attires or even in what looks to be the comfiest of winter clothing.

Snug, warm, and enjoying some snacks, they could almost be mistaken for Rin if it weren't their tiara-like headpieces. This winter casual look for the goddesses brought to the fans by ソゴム. Check'em out not only for their Fate/GO artwork but for other mobile game artwork as well.

6 Maid Goddesses By YD

A person cannot go too far into Erishkigal fan art without stumbling into Ishtar. This picture imagining the two girls as maids someone might find in Akihabara or any other maid cafe.

It's not hard to imagine that Erishkigal and Ishtar would be quite the pair the mismatched maids in YD's artwork. Erishkigal would probably do her work diligently with the lightest bit of tsundere backlash to the one she is servicing and Ishtar would act like she was in charge and leave all the work to poor Erishkigal.

5 Three Goddesses By にじまあるく

More Ishtar but with the addition of Rin this time. Seems like the girls aren't having the greatest of times hanging out in the Underworld. Ishtar isn't all too happy (especially considering what happened the last time she went there) and Rin is sick and confused. Then again, she is probably trying to get her mind to wrap around the fact that she has two goddess clones of herself.

Looks like にじまあるく has a pretty high opinion of Rin. Considering the title of this piece is roughly translated to "Three Goddesses."

4 Swimsuit Ereshkigal By かぼす

This is how you break the wallets and possibly the wills of several Fate/Grand Order players. Not only would the announcement of a summer variant of Ereshkigal bring in an influx of cash to purchase those little magic gems that summon Servants, it would also inspire several threads about how they tried and failed to get her.

So maybe they should be content with just looking at かぼす's art for now.

3 Santa Ereshkigal By ぴず

Combining Santa Claus with the Goddess of the Underworld may seem like quite the mismatch, but Fate/GO has gone to similar weird lengths in their choices for jolly old Saint Nick. They've had a tyrant. A younger version of the dark saint, Jeanne Alter. Attila the Hun. And even Samba Santa takes the reins of giving out presents on Christmas. So it wouldn't be too farfetched to think that the Erishkigal could take the reins of the reindeer for a year.

If a picture could be worth a whole story than ぴず's picture sure qualifies. Looks like the job of Santa Claus was a little too much even for the diligent Goddess of the Underworld.

2 Queen Of The Underworld By Enuma00

She can be adorable, but Ereshkigal is still the ruler of the Underworld. While it may be hard to think she can be as doom and gloom as the land she oversees, especially considering she is mostly a big ball of fluff when interacting with the main character, she still possesses all of the qualities of the one with authority over death.

Enuma00 shows us that it is a thankless job but she will do it. Overseeing death and its realm is far from sunshine and rainbows, but the girl runs it as efficiently as she can with absolute authority.

1 Flower Of The Underworld By 出利

Erishkigal complains that the soil in the Underworld is too infertile to let flowers bloom. Little does she know that one flower did manage to grow despite the harsh conditions.

She may not have flourished from the soil. She may not be rooted to the ground. But Erishkigal is the one and only flower that managed to survive all the adversity. How else does someone explain her popularity with the fans? Here, 出利 gives us a look at the one and only Flower of the Underworld in full bloom.
