Rin is the second heroine of Fate/Stay Night. Though despite first appearing as the perfect school idol and then as the ideal mage, her foibles slowly but surely shatter the illusion of her perfection to leave her as a brash young magus with the world on her shoulders in the eyes of the audience. And though she no longer seems unflappable, her many fans just found more reasons to love her in her imperfection.

One way that love manifests is in all of the fan art she receives. The spunky girl capturing the attention of several talented people who share their works online.

10 Classic Rin By よし男

Good old classic Rin. Before UFOtable gave her outfit an upgrade during their adaption of Unlimited Blade Works, she had a much simpler outfit made up of a simple red shirt, a black skirt, and a pair of thigh highs that made the term "Zettai Ryouiki" common vernacular for otaku all over the world.

While most would consider her new outfit an upgrade, there is still something to say about the outfit she wore when she was first introduced. The look still appearing in several fan pieces like よし男's fan art. Seems there is just nothing like a classic.

9 New Rin By 冬ゆき

The new outfit is undoubtedly an upgrade though. Going from something that could only be found in anime into an outfit that could pass as fashionable in the real world while still maintaining the core of her red and black color scheme. Better yet, it is still undoubtedly Rin.

冬ゆき shows us her new outfit in all of its charms. The clothing right at home on a typical school day or in the midst of a magic battle. Then again, maybe it was the girl that made the clothing instead of it being the other way around.

8 Older Rin By 龙之天雪

Here's something completely different from the other two. A look at one artist's possible interpretation of Rin that is just a little older than the one present in the visual novel and the anime adaptations.

龙之天雪 keeps the standard black and red color scheme but adds a bit of white for something that stops just short of looking like a magical girl. Perhaps alluding to a version of Rin that fell deep into her magecraft studies after the conclusion of the 5th Holy Grail War. Which is something that wouldn't be too hard to imagine since she is eventually considered to be one of the top 100 magi of all time at the Clocktower (one of Fate/Stay Night's wizardry schools).

7 Magical Girl Rin By あかつき聖

Then again, Rin is no stranger to sporting the full magical girl look and Prisma Illya isn't the only chance that she got to play the part. She has a long history of parading around in outrageously cute outfits ever since Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. Unfortunately for her, the spirit inside of the wand takes control of her and forces her to do one embarrassing thing after the next. Turning Rin into a social pariah to everyone that caught her in full magical girl mode.

But how can someone hate something so cute? Sure, she may be forced to say or do things that she'll regret later but it's hard not to think that she rocks that look hard, especially in あかつき聖's art piece. Maybe she should just consider working on a secret identity to avoid social backlash?

6 Archer and Rin By Nina_Pastime

It's hard to not think of one without the other. If she isn't accidentally summoning the white-haired wonder she is falling in love with his younger self. The two's fates intertwined ever since Rin decided to use one of her gems to bring Shirou back to life at the beginning of Fate/Stay Night. It later... or should I say earlier... proved to be a catalyst to summon his tall, dark, and handsome self from the future.

So it is rightfully hard to not think of one without the other. Nina_Pastime giving us a classic example of why that is. Not only do they look good with each other, but their primary colors even match. The two quite the pair among all of the Masters and Servants in Fate.

5 Fancy Meeting You Here By 慎

Speaking of couples that look good together, here is a cute picture of Rin and Shirou. It may have been a bumpy road along the path to romance for these two in Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, but they eventually work through each of their problems to form quite the power couple. So much so that Gen Urobu(tcher)chi considers her the main heroine of Fate/Stay Night because they mend each others' weaknesses with their unique strengths.

Though  presents a pretty convincing argument that they just look really cute together.

4 Throughout The Years By Spark

Rin had quite a hard life (though not as bad when compared to Sakura) and it didn't get better until after the 5th Holy Grail War. Separated from her sister, orphaned by her parents, and then unknowingly raised by the person who killed her father to be the sole heir of the Tohsaka family magic left the poor girl with a mountain of responsibilities and nobody to turn her. Taking the sweet if the willful child she was in Fate/Zero and turning her into the brash teenager and with the world crashing down around her.

Spark's fan art paints a picture of her struggles. Left with only her father's dagger as a child and then forced to take on every other Master and Servant in an attempt to make a name for herself and her family in the Holy Grail War. Things certainly weren't easy.

3 Gem Magic By しらび

Gem magic is the specialty of the Tohsaka family line that was passed down to Rin. It strong enough to even take one of Berserker's lives when wielded by the Master of Archer who made it all her own. There is only one problem though... it is very expensive to cast. Leaving the poor girl to constantly find ways to make money to support her magecraft.

Still, nothing glitters quite like valuable gems. しらび shows Rin in her element. Equipped with valuable Gems that she can use to violently blow someone's head off or even bring someone back from death. The effects are costly but worth every penny.

2 Two Sides Of The Same Coin By lack

Some fans already think of Rin as a goddess, but Fate/Go one-upped them by turning her into two, Ishtar and Ereshkigal. The Goddess of Beauty and War, and the Goddess of Death mixing and matching their personalities with the heroine to create a brand new Servant. Ishtar inheriting her brash personality and her love of gems, and Ereshkigal combining with the lonely interior that Rin tends to hide.

In the end, though, each is undoubtedly Rin. Two sides of the same magical coin that uses Rin's character traits and in new in exciting ways. As well as making for a great picture by lack where they show off both goddesses and their personalities and styles.

1 Rin and Archer Fusion By OFFCAR

Last but not least we have a what-if scenario. A simple portrait of what would happen if Rin and Archer fused together. Combining all of Archer's strengths with Rin to come out with something that mixes and matches them to perfection.

Needless to say, it is a good look for them both. Their matching colors of red and black do wonders for the shared outfit and the hair and eye color of the Wrought Iron Hero looks just as good on Rin as it does on him. All that is left is to imagine what she could pull off with the combined might of her Gem Magecraft and Archer's Projection magic. Quite a combo that could be as lethal as OFFCAR's picture is creative.
