Fast X star Jason Momoa plays a fierce villain in the upcoming instalment of the iconic saga, with the acclaimed actor now sharing why he was so intrigued to play the latest Fast & Furious franchise baddie.

In an interview with Total Film, Momoa spoke about his love for the Fast & Furious series dating back to its 2001 inception and said he was moved by the emotional weight carried throughout Furious 7. Aside from being a fan, Momoa revealed one key reason he was attracted to playing the vengeful Dante Reyes in Fast X was the fact Dante's presentation differs from the typical antagonist. "I didn’t want it to turn into another macho, testosterone-showdown kind of thing," Momoa said. "I wanted to make him look really inviting and easy-going, to have a softer side. That’s why he wears pastels. He’s a little androgynous. He’s been really, really hurt, so he’s a dangerous person. But his external vibes...I wanted you to be intrigued by Dante Reyes."

Who Is Fast X's Dante Reyes?

As evidenced by Fast X's explosive first trailer, Dante Reyes possesses a flamboyant exterior a terrifying mean streak, threatening to shake the foundations of Dominic Toretto's family. Dante is out for Dominic's blood after Dominic and Brian O'Conner took out his father Hernan, a notorious Brazilian drug kingpin, in Rio de Janeiro during Fast Five.

Throughout Fast X, Reyes works alongside criminal mastermind and cyberterrorist Cipher (Charlize Theron) to execute his plan worldwide, with Dom's family heading to Europe, Brazil and even Antarctica. A first look at Momoa's villain was unveiled this past January by co-star Vin Diesel, while fellow castmate Michelle Rodriguez has been hyping up his character as the Fast & Furious series' best male villain.
