Fast and Furious star Tyrese Gibson is set to star in Sony's Morbius, in the last major role to be cast.

Variety confirmed the actor is in talks to join the Jared Leto feature, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing Gibson's role to be an FBI agent trying to hunt down the living vampire.

Gibson will be joining Doctor Who alum Matt Smith, who recently joined the film in an undisclosed role, potentially as Michael Morbius' friend-turned-enemy, Loxias Crown. He'll also join Adria Arjona (Pacific Rim: Uprising) and the newly cast Jared Harris (Mad Men), who is reportedly playing a mysterious but important role in the film. Filming officially kicked off in London this week, indicating more casting news may still be on the horizon in the coming days.

Morbius will be Sony's second Spider-Man spinoff following the wild success of Venom starring Tom Hardy. That film surprised nearly everyone when it managed to amass an astounding $885 million at the worldwide box office, quickly securing a sequel in the process.

Gibson, of course, will return to film Fast & Furious 9 later this summer, once Morbius wraps production. Fast & Furious 9 is currently slated to hit theaters on May 22, 2020.
