While younger audiences were recently wowed by the first trailer for Netflix's animated series Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, franchise veteran Vin Diesel reminded fans that series hasn't forgotten its live-action roots by teasing the release window for Fast & Furious 9's first trailer.

On Instagram, the actor shared an image from the film followed by the statement, "Fast 9 trailer will be released next month... the exact day will be announced on the 18th of this month. Wow. Everyone is so excited for you all to see it!!! Here is a one of the images from Friday’s ICON cover photo shoot."

Taking into consideration the incredible success of the spinoff film Hobbs and Shaw, which released over the summer to a massive box office turnout, many have speculated the franchise will see similar spinoff entries once the series' core saga (consisting of 10 films) comes to a close.

Fast & Furious 9 will be helmed by Justin Lin, who directed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth entries in the Fast & Furious franchise. It stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, and Michael Rooker. Cardi B, John Cena, Finn Cole, Anna Sawai, Vinnie Bennett and Ozuna are also set to appear. The film arrives May 22, 2020.
