Production on Fast & Furious 9 will begin in February.

Star Vin Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto in the franchise, posted a video on Instagram, revealing in the caption that the team was heading "out to London next month for the next chapter." He then used the hashtag #FAST9. The video itself saw Diesel sending a message of love and support from Dom and Michelle Rodriguez’s Letty to those in Venezuela amid a crisis in that country.

The plot of the upcoming film is unknown. However, Fast & Furious 9 will be the penultimate film in the main series, which will end with Fast & Furious 10 in 2021. here are also plans for a female-centered film co-written by Guardians of the Galaxy scribe Nicole Perlman.

The next installment in the franchise will be Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, which stars Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs. Last year, Johnson indicated that he's unsure if he'll reprise his role for Fast & Furious 9.

Fast & Furious 9 will be helmed by Justin Lin, who directed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth entries in the Fast & Furious franchise. Lin has a great deal on his plate right now, as he is reportedly still directing Space Jam 2 and a Hot Wheels movie adaptation. Fast & Furious 9 is slated for a 2020 release.
