The race to finish Fast & Furious 7 is back on.

Production on the seventh installment of the Universal Pictures franchise is set to resume on or near April 1, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. The studio and director James Wan shut down the shoot in December, following the tragic death of star Paul Walker.

Wan, Universal and writer Chris Morgan are said to have rewritten the script in a way that utilizes footage of Walker shot before his death, while still "retiring," not killing off, his character Brian O'Conner.

Fast and Furious 7 hits theaters on April 10, 2015.
