After being absent during the events of The Fate of the Furious, Jordana Brewster's Mia Toretto is poised to make her return in Fast and the Furious 9.

In a behind-the-scenes video from the upcoming sequel's set in London, series star and producer Vin Diesel confirmed longtime co-star Brewster would return as his on-screen sister.

Posted on Diesel's Instagram, the two actors are joined by a new child cast member who will be portraying Mia's son with husband Brian O'Connor, portrayed throughout the franchise by late actor Paul Walker.

Alongside Diesel and Walker, Brewster had debuted as Mia Toretto since the start of the franchise with the original 2001 film. Appearing for many of the subsequent sequels, the character was written out of the series along with Brian at the end of Furious 7 to give Walker's character a proper sendoff after the actor's tragic death. With Mia Toretto and her son returning, it is unknown if the film will divulge Brian's whereabouts since the 2015 film.
