The explosive cast of Fast & Furious 9 has added even more fire to the mix with the addition of rapper Cardi B.
Fast & Furious franchise star Vin Diesel shared the news through a post on Instagram.
Diesel posted a video celebrating the film's final day of shooting in the United Kingdom, with Cardi B sitting behind Diesel as he filmed. He declared that the cast was "exhausted" and that they all "gave everything that [they] could" for Fast & Furious 9. Cardi B shared the sentiment while declaring how tired she was, before claiming that Fast & Furious 9 is going to be "the best one" in the long-running franchise. Diesel then shared his love for the fans, before Cardi B stressed how she needed a "nappy-nap" after all of her hard work on set.
Cardi B becomes the latest in a series of celebrities cast in unknown roles, including John Cena, Finn Cole and reggaeton star Ozuna. While the film may be the ninth in the series, the sheer number of fresh, yet recognizable faces will certainly add even more appeal to the phenomenally popular franchise.
Fast & Furious 9 will be helmed by Justin Lin, who directed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth entries in the Fast & Furious franchise. It stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, and Michael Rooker. Cardi B, John Cena, Finn Cole, Anna Sawai, Vinnie Bennett and Ozuna are also set to appear. Fast & Furious 9 is slated for a May 22, 2020 release.
