Fast and Furious 10 star Vin Diesel teased new cast members for the upcoming film.

In a post on Instagram, Diesel posted a video of himself in which he initially talked about a NASCAR race. After congratulating the racers and winner Joey Logano, Diesel revealed the start of principal photography on Fast & Furious 10 was just a few minutes away. "We have great cast additions that are going to make this episode really, really, really exciting," Diesel said at the end of the video. He did not provide any additional details or hints about who might be joining the Fast and Furious franchise.

Outside of the franchise's main characters, just who Fast & Furious 10 will feature isn't clear at this time. However, Aquaman star Jason Momoa was recently cast in the film, reportedly as an antagonist. Additionally, while unconfirmed, Jakob Toretto (John Cena), Cipher (Charlize Theron) and Leysa (Cardi B) are all expected to return.

One former Fast & Furious cast member that almost certainly won't return for the film is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who has been having a very public feud with Diesel. In November, Diesel tried convincing Johnson to return for the movie with a post on Instagram, saying, "Hobbs can't be played by no other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny." Johnson later addressed the post, saying that he'd already privately told Diesel he would not return to the franchise while calling out the actor's specific language as manipulative.

Created by Gary Scott Thompson, the Fast & Furious franchise began in 2001. Currently, ten films in the franchise have been released, with the most recent being 2021's F9. Financially, the Fast & Furious films have proven massive successes at the box office, with several installments grossing more than $1 billion worldwide. While F9 only earned $726 million at the worldwide box office against a budget of between $200 and $225 million, the movie also released during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has had many reticent to return to theaters.

Specific plot information for Fast & Furious 10 is not known at this time. However, Fast & Furious 10 is the penultimate film in the series and is expected to shoot back-to-back with Fast & Furious 11. The final two movies are said to be one film split in half.

Directed by Justin Lin, Fast & Furious 10 races into theaters May 19, 2023.
