Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel recently shared a new behind-the-scenes image of the actor holding Captain Marvel's Brie Larson on the set of Fast X, the tenth installment in the popular action franchise.

Diesel posted the image of the two actors on Instagram, writing, "There are some people you will meet in life…. That will change you, change your family… change the world, FOREVER!"

Larson joined the cast of Fast X in 2020. When she was cast in the upcoming film, Diesel acknowledged most fans would know the actor for her work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "What you don't see however, is the character you will be introduced to in [Fast & Furious 10]," he added. "You have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology. Beyond her beauty, her intellect... her Oscar, haha is this profound soul who will add something you might not have expected but yearned for. Welcome to the FAMILY Brie."

Larson is one of several new additions to the Fast and Furious franchise. Aquaman's Jason Momoa, The Suicide Squad's Daniela Melchior and Titans' Alan Ritchson are also set to join the franchise with Fast X. Diesel previously teased the film's ensemble cast back in February. "We have great cast additions that are going to make this episode really, really, really exciting," he said at the time.

Justin Lin, who has helmed five previous films in the series, was originally set to direct Fast X but exited the production shortly after shooting began. Although Universal claimed Lin left over creative differences, multiple industry insiders and sources close to the production of Fast X suggested Lin left because he could no longer handle Diesel's behavior as a star and producer on the film. The Incredible Hulk's Louis Leterrier signed on to replace Lin as director in May.

The returning cast of Fast X includes Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Charlize Theron, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker and Scott Eastwood. Though unconfirmed, John Cena and Cardi B are expected to return as Jakob Toretto and Leysa respectively from 2021's F9.

Fast X is currently shooting in London. The film is scheduled to open in theaters on May 19, 2023.
