Warning: The following contains spoilers for "Sight Unseen," in Fantastic Four #25, by Dan Slott, Paco Medina, Marcio Menyz and VC's Joe Caramagna, on sale now.

The history of the Marvel Universe is a rather densely-packed series of events. With countless ongoing titles and multiple major crossovers per year, it can be difficult to keep track of everything going on. If anyone is capable of catching up on the last few years at Marvel, it's the newly-returned Uatu, The Watcher.

Uatu is featured in the Fantastic Four #25 back-up tale, "Sight Unseen," by Dan Slott and Paco Medina. This story follows up on The Watcher's mysterious resurrection from Empyre Fallout: Fantastic Four, by Slott and Sean Izaakse. Nick Fury Sr., "The Unseen," is still reeling from Uatu's return, demanding answers from The Watcher. Uatu simply ignores Fury, instead focusing on restoring his home on The Blue Area of The Moon.

After easily performing this task, Uatu turns his attention to Fury, curious as to how and why the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director is holding The Watcher's position and wearing the garb of his fellow Watchers. Against Fury's will, The Watcher grabs The Unseen and probes his mind for answers. Indeed, Uatu says that he wishes to catch up on everything he's missed, demanding that Fury open his mind.

By probing the mind of The Unseen, Uatu transports the two of them to the "Cyclopedia Universum." This strange archive is a catalog of everything that a Watcher has seen. Apparently, Fury has maintained and updated Uatu's archive in The Watcher's absence.

The last thing that Uatu recorded was his own death by Fury's hand. From there, The Watcher witnesses Fury's punishment: being turned into The Unseen by Uatu's fellow Watchers. While The Unseen was meant only to witness events, as a hybrid of both Watcher and man, Uatu criticizes Fury's instances of interference.

For example, The Unseen influenced Thor, making The God of Thunder doubt himself and thus, unworthy to wield Mjiolnir. After judging Fury's performance, Uatu catches up on everything he's missed in the past few years.

Possibly the most significant event for which Uatu was absent was 2015's Secret Wars. After the collapse of the multiverse, Doctor Doom took control of the remnants and formed "Battleworld," a combination of multiple Earths in one. This massive event saw the remainder of Marvel's heroes battle Doom for a chance at restoring the multiverse, an epic fight of cosmic proportions.

The archive also features a glimpse of the controversial Secret Empire, during which a duplicate of Captain America nearly turned The United States into a nation run by Hydra. Several blockbuster events are also shown in the archives, including War of The Realms, when Malekith's forces invaded Earth for control of all ten realms, Absolute Carnage, a nightmarish struggle between Cletus Kasaday and anyone who's ever bonded with an alien symbiote, and Empyre, a cosmic war between the united Kree/Skrull forces and The Cotati -- with Earth caught in the middle.

The monumental foundation of Krakoa, the mutant island-nation, is also featured. Witnessing all of these major events, Uatu still states that "a reckoning" is coming, something that requires a true Watcher's eyes. This is a significant statement, essentially saying that everything Uatu witnessed from the past few years is nothing compared to the future.

Now that Uatu is all caught up on Marvel's recent history, The Watcher is preparing for some major changes for the universe and its heroes.
