New rumors about The Fantastic Four's Marvel Cinematic Universe debut suggest the comics film giant plans to use Madame Web's Dakota Johnson as the blueprint for Sue Storm.

Insider Jeff Sneider recently discussed the topic of the upcoming Fantastic Four movie on The Hot Mic podcast. According to him, they are looking to cast someone with the same look as Dakota Johnson for the part of Sue Storm, otherwise known as The Invisible Woman. "We're looking at that 30-35 age range, and, from what I understand, Dakota Johnson is the prototype." The movie is set to release on Feb 14, 2025, with this alleged information providing a small insight into what the iconic character will look like.

While Sneider claims that Johnson is the look Marvel is going for, it isn't clear if she's being considered to take on the role herself, as she is already involved in the Sony Spider-Man Universe. The Fifty Shades of Grey actor will appear in Madame Web as the titular character, a clairvoyant psychic who uses her powers to see into the Spider-Verse. Actors like Adam Scott and a mystery character from Emma Roberts join her.

Who Will Play Sue Storm in Fantastic 4?

Sue Storm is not the only member of The Fantastic Four who has received plenty of casting speculation. There have been many rumors regarding the cast of the upcoming MCU movie, with names like Dev Patel pegged for Reed Richards and Mila Kunis meeting with executives. Reportedly, Marvel also considered The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan and Killing Eve's Jodie Comer for Sue Storm. However, the movie's director, Matt Shakman, recently confirmed that they are still in the early stages of casting and that nothing is certain.

Madame Web is scheduled for release on Feb 16, 2024, and is directed by S.J. Clarkson, known for her work on The Defenders, Jessica Jones, Anatomy of a Scandal, Succession, and more. The screenplay is written by Kerem Sanga (The Violent Heart), with the duo of Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (Morbius, Power Rangers, Gods of Egypt) also contributing.

Information on the upcoming Fantastic Four movie is scarce, with the release date recently being pushed back from November 2024 to February 2025. The leader of The Fantastic Four, Reed Richards, has already been seen in the MCU after a cameo appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, played by John Krasinski. However, this has been all but confirmed as a one-off.
