He now has his sights set on a huge role in another major franchise: the Marvel Cinematic Universe.On social media, film critic Zaki Hasan discussed Kang the Conqueror, who was seemingly introduced to the MCU in the final episode of Loki on Disney+, played by Jonathan Majors. Hasan wrote, "Given that Kang's real name is Nathaniel Richards and he's a distant descendant of Reed Richards, I don't think it's unreasonable to think the MCU's version of Mr. Fantastic will be played by a Black actor." Not too long after the film rights to the Fantastic Four returned to Marvel Studios following Disney's acquisition of Fox, it was announced that the superpowered family will be introduced into the MCU, though no release date for the Fantastic Four film has yet been announced.

A vocal majority of fans have been calling for real-life couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt to play Reed Richards and Susan Storm. Although both had auditioned or been offered roles from Marvel Studios in the past, Blunt confirmed in an interview that neither one of them had received a call for Fantastic Four.
