The matriarch of Marvel's First Family is gearing up for an adventure of her very own, as Marvel Comics has officially announced a new Invisible Woman solo series starring Sue Storm-Richards of the Fantastic Four.

Written by former Fantastic Four scribe Mark Waid (Avengers: No Road Home, Doctor Strange) and illustrated by artist Mattia De Iulis (Jessica Jones), this five-issue limited series arrives in July and promises to "take Sue on a journey that will unlock the secrets of her past in the most surprising way!"

Moreover, Marvel has revealed Invisible Woman will harken back to a time when Sue was taking on an espionage mission as an Agent of  S.H.I.E.L.D., with the series seeing her tasked with saving her former partner from danger.

"In over 50 years, she's never had her own title (or maybe she did and you just didn't see it,)" Marvel Comics Senior Vice President of Publishing/Executive Editor Tom Brevoort said. "Waid and Iulis will be delving into what Sue Richards does -- and even who she is -- on her own time, apart from her famous family! It's sure to surprise some -- as will a few of the gestures-players who'll be passing through the story."

Written by Mark Waid with art by Mattia De Iulis and a cover by Adam Hughes, Invisible Woman #1 hits comic shops in July.
