A new Fantastic Four teaser from Marvel reveals the return of Valeria and Franklin Richards, and hints at a revival of the Future Foundation.

The image comes from an interview with Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski and writer Dan Slott on Marvel.com. Val and Franklin appear in what seems to be a revised version of Fantastic Four promo art released in March. The family's two youngest members look somewhat older than in previous incarnations, and although the rest of the team display a clear "4" on their costumes, Val and Franklin have an "FF" logo, hinting at the return of the Future Foundation.

"Of course it’s going to be Reed, Sue, Johnny and the Ever-Lovin’ Blue-Eyed Thing," Slott said about the team's make-up,  "And Franklin! And Val! And Alicia! And who knows? Maybe Willie Lumpkin and Aunt Petunia, too! Wait and see."

"When the costume designs came up, Tom [Brevoort] and Dan had very specific ideas that date all the way back to the original FF through every incarnation, with specific designs and color schemes that would fit into this story," Cebulski added.

Created by Jonathan Hickman and Steve Epting, the Future Foundation debuted in 2010's Fantastic Four #576. Mister Fantastic intended the group to better the future of those on Earth. The team has counted such heroes as Ant-Man, She-Hulk, Medusa and Spider-Man among its members.

Marvel’s First Family hasn't been seen together since 2016's  Secret Wars. Last year’s massive Marvel Legacy one-shot featured the return of Franklin and Valeria Richards in a short post-credits scene that all but guaranteed the team’s reunion in 2018. And the first issues of Chip Zdarsky and Jim Cheung’s Marvel 2-In-One series basically paved the way for The Thing and Human Torch to bring Reed and Sue Richards back to the Marvel Universe proper.

Fantastic Four #1 from Dan Slott and Sara Pichelli will arrive in August from Marvel Comics.
