Initially, 21st Century Fox owned the film rights to Fantastic Four, preventing Marvel Studios from developing a movie based on the characters. As such, Fox released three Fantastic Four films -- Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and reboot Fan4stic -- between 2005 and 2015. Then, in March 2019, Marvel Studios' parent company The Walt Disney Company acquired Fox. This brought the Fantastic Four back into the Marvel Studios fold, allowing the studio to develop a MCU film about the characters.

Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four film does not yet have a cast or release date.
