Fantastic Four, Batman Begins, X-Men 3: July 8th Comic Reel Wrap

Three out of four ain't bad. Variety is reporting that 20th Century Fox has chosen "Shield" star Michal Chiklis as Ben Grimm/The Thing, "Horatio Hornblower" veteran Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic and "Not Another Teen Movie" alum Chris Evans as Johnny Storm/the Human Torch. Rumors are swirling around who will play Sue Storm, with contenders including "Mean Girls" actress Rachel McAdams, perpetual "24" dingbat Elisha Cuthbert and even "Sin City"/"Dark Angel" bombshell Jessica Alba.

Ready for your close up? The City of Chicago has posted information about a special casting call for the upcoming Christopher Nolan-helmed Bat-flick. "The Intimidation Game - Warner Bros. Feature film starring Christian Bale and Michael Caine will be filming in Chicago from July 31st through August 21st. Extras Casting Call: Please call the Casting Hotline for complete details at 312-427-FILM, Saturday, July 10th from 11 am to 4 pm, 1401 N. Cicero, Please bring a color photo and a pen." No word on whether SAG benefits will be combined with those of a traditional city employee.

Hollywood North Report is reporting that Halle Berry will not be back for the third Westchester-based mutant movie. According to an insider, "Halle was ready to do X-Men 3 , but only if Storm was given more storyline, but the studio sees the third movie as a means to wrap up the trilogy, and that means Storm won't be featured more than Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. Halle has now passed on the third movie because she's not into bit-parts. She's an Oscar winner and she wants roles that test her." Allegedly, producers are now apparently looking to singer and actress Christina Milian as a possible replacement.
