Fantastic Four is finally about to tackle an untold story that was teased all the way back at the beginning of writer Dan Slott's run penning the adventures of Marvel's First Family. Just how, why and, most importantly, when was Bobby Drake a member of the team?

Marvel has released the solicitation information for September's Fantastic Four #24, which tells the story of "that time Iceman replaced the Human Torch as a member of the Fantastic Four." Back in September of 2018, Fantastic Four #2 somewhat confused readers by including Bobby Drake/Iceman among the Fantastic Four alumni. This was addressed in the following issue when Johnny Storm/Human Torch asked Bobby what exactly he was doing there, with the former reminding him of "that time you guys made me a member." In response, Johnny declared that said incident "totally didn't count."

At the bottom of the panel in question, editor Tom Brevoort informed readers that the two elementally-opposed superheroes were referring to "an untold tale for another day." Evidently, that day will soon be upon us.

Written by Dan Slott and illustrated by Paco Medina, Fantastic Four #24 goes on sale Sept. 30 from Marvel Comics. The issue features a main cover by Nick Bradshaw, as well as four variants by Alex Ross. The full solicitation information, as well as Bradshaw's cover, can be found below.
