The sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will include some names familiar to fans of the Harry Potter franchise.
An announcement on Pottermore, the official Harry Potter website, reveals the Warner Bros. film will include Nicolas Flamel, known in J.K. Rowling's wizarding world as the alchemist who discovered the Elixir of Life. He'll be portrayed in Fantastic Beasts 2 by actor Brontis Jodorowsky.
Flamel will be joined in the film by Torquil Travers (played by Derek Riddell) and Rosier (Poppy Corby-Tuech), who may be recognized as the names of two Death Eaters who served Lord Voldemort. In addition, Wolf Roth has been cast as Spielman, Victoria Yeates as Bunty and Cornell S. John as Arnold Guzman.
Inspired by Rowling's 2001 book by the same name, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them served as a prequel to the blockbuster Harry Potter series. The film earned $814 million on a $180 million budget.
Arriving in theaters on Nov. 16, 2018, the sequel will be directed by David Yates, with Rowling, David Heyman, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram producing. The film stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Katherine Waterston as Tina, Alison Sudol as Queenie and Dan Fogler as Jacob. Ezra Miller will return as Credence, as will Zoë Kravitz as Leta Lestrange, the figure briefly glimpsed in Newt's moving photo. Callum Turner will join the cast as Newt's older brother Theseus Scamander.
