Fans build mammoth LEGO Technic 'Star Wars' Sandcrawler

LEGO enthusiasts Jarren Harkema and Calvin Hartley spent more than 500 hours, and used more than 10,000 bricks, to create a massive LEGO Technic replica of the Sandcrawler from Star Wars: A New Hope, and it was totally worth it.

The 3-foot, 28-pound vehicle debuted last month at Chicago Brickworld 2015, where it was nominated for Best Mechanical Creation. Plus, their Sandcrawler is big enough that is could probably carry an actual Jawa.

"We crammed many mechanical features into it, which was challenging, but I think it worked out fairly well," Hartley told Michigan's MLive as he demonstrated that the Sandcrawler can actually, well, crawl.
