As divisive as Zack Snyder's style of storytelling is in the superhero movie arena, he does have his devoted followers. This became highly obvious with fans petitioning Warner Bros. to release the Snyder cut of Justice League after the final product -- bearing Joss Whedon's signature -- wasn't well-received.

Now, one of these devotees has taken it to the next level, paying homage to the director with a fan-made Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer, done in the style of Snyder's initial Watchmen trailer.

This newly customized BvS trailer, which clocks in at just over two minutes, is set to the Smashing Pumpkins' "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning," just like its Watchmen counterpart, and contains all of Snyder's trademark themes from the clip that was meant to promote the 2009 adaptation of the classic graphic novel from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. Not only does it have the same dark color palette, but the creator of the piece, Jon Arryn Garza, also shapes the BvS trailer to build the suspense up in a similar haunting fashion as the Watchmen piece.

The clip is packed with slow-motion shots of Batman (looking at times like Patrick Wilson's Owlman), Wonder Woman, Superman, and even Lex Luthor in action, with capes blowing in the wind; tons of explosions and crumbling skyscrapers; gratuitous comic book poses on buildings and ledges, and most of all, that tense, emotive climax in the trailer's final shot where the Man of Steel and Gotham's Dark Knight are about to face off against each other.

It seems that, even though Snyder may not be part of the DC Extended Universe any longer, he's still viewed by many as its heartbeat, and these loyalists would want to continue paying tribute to him.
