Those complaining that the new "Ghostbusters" movie looks like it may not be loyal enough to the 1984 classic will enjoy a new fan-film starring LEGO versions of the original characters reliving highlights of their first adventure -- albeit with some added LEGO crossover appearances dotting the fun.

Created by the folks at Digital Wizard Studios -- an eight-person animation outfit that specializes in the creation of engaging branded content -- "LEGO Ghostbusters" runs 4:44, and is the product of five months' work. The attention to detail shows, as it loyally reinterprets many of the most iconic scenes of the original film, updated with nods to LEGO's brand of jumbled toy box fun. Everything from "Back off man, I'm a scientist," to "Are you the Keymaster?" and more get the LEGO-treatment as the gang saves the city from ghastly ghouls from beyond. Check it out below.

According to the filmmakers, "LEGO Ghostbusters" features five of the most valuable LEGO produced -- the Taj Mahal, the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, Cafe Corner, Green Grocer, and Mr. Gold. Also included in the film's fun are the Scooby Doo gang, the Simpsons family, an array of superheroes and "Star Wars" characters, and many more. The tribute animation goes to show that not all specters of fandom are here to haunt -- there's plenty to celebrate.

The new, human-starring "Ghostbusters" movie arrives in theaters July 15. The next official LEGO feature, "The LEGO Batman Movie," comes out February 10, 2017.
