Longstanding Family Guy centerpiece Peter Griffin recently became Deadpool in honor of the animated television show reaching its 300th episode. The character donned the Merc with a Mouth’s signature red and black suit for a brief musical skit that resembled one of the more action-oriented scenes in the 2016 superhero film.

The subject matter is predictably blue, with Peter revealing that “the treatments” didn’t give him super powers, but that they did “spread cancer to [his] anus.” Peter then goes about dismantling a series of henchmen with blade and bullet to the tune of Juice Newton’s “Angel of the Morning,” though the lyrics have been altered to include references to Peter’s assfliction.

The scene is reminiscent of the moment in Deadpool where a revenge-hungry Wade Wilson finally tracks down the elusive Ajax on a highway, engaging him and his henchmen while their vehicles are still in motion. It’s a curious piece of parody for Family Guy, which seems to have been keeping this two-year-old reference in reserve for the 300th episode.

Available for home purchase now, Deadpool is directed by Tim Miller and stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, Leslie Uggams, Brianna Hildebrand and Stefan Kapičić. Deadpool 2 is currently scheduled for a May 18 release date.
