When the trailer for Fall debuted, it was safe to say the concept was totally ridiculous. It focused on Grace Caroline Currey's Becky and Virginia Gardner's Hunter scaling a 2000-foot radio tower in the middle of the desert, with the former hoping to get over her husband's tragic death and the latter doing it for social media clout, similar to the premise of Not Okay.

Still, the movie grounded itself in a sense of optimism as it unfolded, following science and logic, despite Becky and Hunter's ridiculous plans. Unfortunately, common sense was a rare find in the movie, with Fall crashing badly through a series of plot holes and unanswered questions.

Why Didn't Hunter Bring Extra Drone Batteries?

Hunter wanted to film her and her bestie atop the tower, using a drone to get some glory shots for her edits. When the ladder fell apart, though, it seemed like they'd have no way down, so the drone became an option to send out an SOS message. The problem was that the battery was dead. Fans were left wondering if Hunter checked the battery status before the climb and why didn't she charge it prior, as it was nearly dead. Most of all, it's never revealed why she didn't have portable batteries. They would have easily fit into her backpack, giving her juice to send for help, even after the ladder collapsed.

Why Not Notify Someone About the Climb in Fall?

Becky holds on to the radio tower ladder in Fall

Hunter loves extreme situations, not just for the adrenaline rush but also because this kind of content drastically ups her online popularity. But seeing as she's got so many followers and is a brand ambassador, why not notify someone about the ascent? It was a pretty dangerous free-climb, plus they weren't using a harness -- just a 50-foot rope to attach to each other. Thus, it was odd someone so versed in these activities wouldn't have someone trying to monitor, whether remotely or at the tower base, in case something went wrong, especially as they were in the middle of nowhere where cell service was minimal.

Did James Know About Dan's Cheating in Fall?

James might have known Dan cheated on Becky in Fall

One of the big twists in Fall was that Hunter actually was there for the same purpose as Becky: to grieve Dan. It turns out that before Becky and Dan got married, Hunter had an affair with him, so she wanted to mourn while Becky scattered his ashes. Ironically, before she left town for the climb, Becky's dad, James (portrayed by The Walking Dead and The Boys star Jeffrey Dean Morgan), let her know Dan might not have been an angel. Seeing as Becky saw footage of Hunter pining for Dan at the wedding when they got stuck atop the tower, one has to wonder if James saw or heard something years back at the wedding and didn't have the heart to tell his daughter. It'd make sense, explaining why he was coldly trying to demonize Dan to push Becky to get over the death.

When Did Hunter and Dan's Cheating Begin in Fall?

The film was vague on this, never revealing if Dan and Hunter had a romantic past before he knew Becky. It so, that piece of history might have made things a tad more forgivable, explaining why Becky quickly let Hunter off the hook. But if they got together after he met Hunter through Becky, then that's pretty scummy. Fall didn't clarify anything, though, which left fans wondering how Becky could buy into Hunter's outlandish words about how she loved Becky as a sister and always would, even after backstabbing her like this.

Why Didn't Hunter Do Any Recon?

Hunter claimed to be a brainy daredevil like Lara Croft, yet she didn't do any recon work on a tower she knew nothing about. It was almost a century old, which explains why it was so rusty, why the screws were loose, and why the entire structure felt so janky. She could have done some research on it or used the drone to scope out the higher parts of the ladder, which would have shown her its integrity was failing before they got so high up. Admittedly, this had to be done to push Fall's reckless plot forward, but it made the ladies seem very absent-minded because the tower looked frail and was clearly falling apart, even at the bottom.

Why Would Becky Make the Climb in Fall?

Becky and Hunter atop a radio tower in Fall

Becky lost Dan in Fall's opening act in a rock-climbing accident. This is why she got vertigo afterward and grew scared of heights. Thus, it makes no sense that she'd entertain such an ascent. If she did want to scatter his ashes in a sentimental fashion, it'd have been more palpable if she did so at the cliff where Dan died. Had this tower had some sort of emotional connection, it'd have resonated more, but seeing as she was depressed and struggling with alcoholism, it felt like a random mission that didn't tie into Becky's life at all.

Why Did Hunter Need That Risky Jump?

Hunter clings to the tower's ledge in Fall

Hunter's bag fell onto a mini-satellite platform about 50 feet below them, so she climbed down and sent the bag up for Becky to have the drone and water. She then attempted to jump onto the bag, hold on, then climb up the rope. This defied science, though, because the thin straps wouldn't be able to hold her weight. In addition, Becky could have used the drone herself and roped water down after seeing the distance was too much for Hunter to make. This was forced so Hunter would die after slipping off the bag, becoming a 'ghost' that haunted Becky.

How Was Becky's Phone Not Dead?

Becky and Hunter stuck on top of radio tower in Fall

Hunter tossed her cell down in a padded shoe to see if it'd pick up data on the ground in the opening act. However, it didn't work, which is why Becky had to use her phone to pilot the drone. The problem is they had no service, so there's no way Becky could have downloaded the app and used the phone to see the flight path. She didn't even know anything about drones prior, so she wouldn't have had the app before. In addition, Fall never explained how her phone didn't die after being up there for so long without charge. Becky was constantly trying to get service and data, too, so it was being drained.

Why Was No One Suspicious of Becky in Fall?

Hunter in Fall

Becky ended up sticking her phone in Hunter's corpse, shooing away the vulture that gnawed at the body after she ate the other scavenger and became an alpha predator. She kicked her off and to the ground, which allowed data to send an SOS out. But while the movie ended with a chopper picking her up and her dad hugging her, one has to wonder if anyone questioned whether Becky killed Hunter. No one was around, after all, and Hunter was maimed, so even without the revelation of the affair, it was easy to suspect that foul play could have occurred as if they were in a slasher film.
