Wyatt Russell, who co-starred on the Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, got some sage advice from his dad about taking on the role of the ill-fated Captain America replacement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Russell said, "I approached it just like a normal character and didn't put too much pressure on the fact that it was Marvel," according to THRRussell's father is veteran actor Kurt Russell, who appeared in Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 as the celestial being Ego. The senior Russell also cautioned his son to get a superhero costume that enables him to answer any calls to nature, Wyatt Russell said.

Kurt Russell's advice came from experience; he wore a superhero outfit in the 2005 Disney film Sky High as The Commander, a superhero and proud father of two superpowered teenagers who learn to handle their abilities at the learning institution of the title.

Wyatt Russell's character in Falcon, John Walker, began with good intentions but lacked the experience and restraint of the original Captain America. After Walker kills a member of the Flag Smashers in public, he is stripped of the Captain America title and given a new guise, the U.S. Agent, by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

Directed by Kari Skogland and written by Malcolm Spellman, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/The Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/Captain America, Erin Kellyman as Karli Morgenthau, Adepero Oduye as Sarah Wilson, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, Clé Bennett as Lemar Hoskins/Battlestar, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley and Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo. The first season is available to stream on Disney+.
