Super Bowl LIV provided a first look at Marvel Studios' upcoming slate of original television programming for Disney+, including a promo for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Now, Disney has released a new synopsis for the series.

Following the debut of the Super Bowl promo, Marvel Studios updated the miniseries' official synopsis, which hints at a global adventure for Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes. As they defend the legacy of Captain America, the mission that will test their physical and mental limits.

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities -- and their patience -- in Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. The all-new series is directed by Kari Skogland; Malcolm Spellman is the head writer. Debuts on Disney+ this fall.

The promo begins with Sam testing out Captain America's signature vibranium shield, after he received it from Steve Rogers in Endgame's final moments. Meanwhile, Bucky is seen confronting the villainous Baron Zemo, the foe who orchestrated the events of Captain America: Civil War. With Madripoor previously teased as a location for the miniseries, Falcon and Winter Soldier's adventures will take them to previously unexplored parts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills and Daniel Brühl. The series will be available on Disney+ this fall.
