A set photo from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier teases a key X-Men location is coming to the MCU.Twitter user Luke Hatcher shared an image earlier this month from what seemed like a fairly innocuous scene from the upcoming Disney+ show. But the site Murphy's Multiverse noticed something very interesting in the image: the flag of Madripoor.
The red crescent moon, star, and lion's head on the wall of the garden is the same image that appears on the flag for the fictional island. First premiering in 1985's New Mutants #32, the nation is a hotbed of criminal activity and is overrun by supervillains. The locale generally pops up in X-Men stories, with Wolverine usually involved. Instead, Captain America's two best friends will be visiting the dangerous location as part of their team-up adventure.
Set photos from the MCU series have been even more revealing as the show continues shooting for its debut next year. We've already seen shots of Falcon's new suit, plus the return of Sharon Carter to the MCU.
Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell and Daniel Brühl and will be available on Disney+ in fall 2020.
