A new clip from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier may have provided a clue to one character's role in the story.

The clip expounds on Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes' argument about "the Big Three" threats they have faced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe while discussing the Flag-Smashers. Though the clip does showcase Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan's chemistry -- as well as the revelation that Bucky read The Hobbit when it was first released -- a new detail points at John Walker, aka U.S. Agent, being the new Captain America.

Inside the hangar where Sam and Bucky are talking, there is a poster featuring Wyatt Russell's John Walker -- better known in Marvel Comics canon as U.S. Agent. "Cap Is Back!" the poster reads, while Walker holds Steve Rogers' shield. This hints at potential friction between Sam and Walker, especially given that Rogers passed his shield to Sam at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will see the title duo facing multiple challenges as they attempt to hold up Captain America's legacy. In addition to Walker and the anarchist Flag-Smashers, the duo must also contend with the return of Batroc the Leaper and Helmut Zemo -- who has been described as even more complex and dangerous by the series director Kari Skogland.

Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly and Daniel Brühl. The series premieres March 19 on Disney+.
