WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 2, "The Star-Spangled Man," now streaming on Disney+.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes has a lot of issues, which is why he's in therapy. But his journey isn't just about processing his time as the Winter Soldier, but also about becoming a person who's ready to integrate back into society. Still, Bucky's got a long way to go, and while he's lucky enough to get some catharsis when his most hated enemy gets destroyed in the latest episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it leaves him an ally short in the fight against the Flag-Smashers.

This enemy is none other than Sam Wilson's A.I. drone, Redwing, who Bucky cannot stand. He's detested Redwing since Captain America: Civil War because he didn't feel it helped them out in that fight as best it could. Bucky also simply hates the idea of robotics and programming, which is fair given his past. Now, in Episode 2 of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, when Bucky meets Sam at the airport as he prepares to head to Munich, he confesses he doesn't trust Redwing to be his partner in the field. This leads to a couple of comedic exchanges on the mission, including one where Bucky tries to jump from the plane without a parachute and Redwing tapes it.

And if that wasn't bad enough, later, as they infiltrate a warehouse, Redwing's flying around, buzzing like a mosquito by Bucky's head. Bucky tries to swat the drone away, playing up the humor between him and Sam, something Redwing clearly wants a part in. To top things off, Redwing shows Bucky up in terms of military strategy and tactics when the drone scans multiple enemies that Bucky didn't notice were in the vicinity.

Redwing gets to Bucky because he's accustomed to doing things the old-fashioned way, but when they eventually try to take the truck the Flag-Smashers are using to transport mysterious serums, the drone proves its worth. When Bucky's jumped by a couple of the super soldiers, Redwing flies in to help, but their leader, Karli, jumps into the air, grabs the drone and breaks it. Bucky's disappointed not only because they've lost backup and firepower, but also because he claims that he wanted to be the one to smash the drone. Still, even Bucky knows they'll need as much help as they can get for the upcoming battle and that they'd be better off with Redwing at their side.

Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly and Daniel Brühl. New episodes debut on Fridays on Disney+.
