While many shows have stopped production during the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Marvel Studios' The Falcon And the Winter Soldier and Legendary Entertainment/Amazon Studios' Carnival Row have gotten the OK from the Czech Republic to pick back up.

"In full compliance with the Ministry of Health, filmmakers are no longer affected by measures restricting cultural and sporting events and large gatherings," Czech Film Fund Director Helena Bezdek Frankova said. "We therefore consider audiovisual production to be resumed." Other projects that were being filmed in the Czech Republic when the shutdown began include Wheel of Time and 473 Transatlantic.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is the first of Marvel's new slate of shows that are being filmed for Disney+. Carnival Row, meanwhile, is a dark fantasy neo-noir starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne, which had been filming its second season.

This green light from the Czech government doesn't mean that either Marvel or Amazon have made the decision to resume production, but it does mean they have the option to. Moreover, foreign actors and crew members "must show a negative test when leaving their country, a measure that, according to the latest reports, airlines will also begin to require for all their passengers," according to Czech Film Commissioner Pavlina Zipkova. "Within 72 hours of arrival, they will undergo a second test, and remain quarantined until they receive a negative result."

While actors are exempt from wearing masks while filming, they will instead be required to undergo PCR testing (a test which detects the presence of the coronavirus) once every 14 days. The Film Commission has stated that condition could be lifted as the situation developed, based on the ongoing state of the pandemic.
