A new promo for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's upcoming episode shows the battle for Cap's shield is on -- and Sam Wilson is gearing up to take it away from John Walker for good.
"You gotta give me the shield," Wilson tells Walker in a new promo for Episode 5. Walker is also shown saying, "We could have been a team" to Barnes right before the two engage in combat. Another snippet of footage teases Barnes' faceoff with Helmut Zemo, while a mysterious group of figures is shown congregating in a red-lit room.
A previous trailer for the two remaining episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier teased Wilson and Barnes' confrontation with Walker.
In the latest episode, "The Whole World is Watching," Walker brutally murdered a Flag-Smasher after the death of his partner Lemar Hoskins. The fifth episode will also feature a cameo from a character in the Marvel Comics canon, who showrunner Malcolm Spellman teased as being "a grounded character" that's able to stand shoulder to shoulder with Thor.
Spellman previously discussed how the legacy of Captain America and his shield plays into the events of the Marvel series, stating, "The shield doesn't itself represent something that's singular. It represents what somebody puts on it," he said. "So one guy puts his own version of what Captain America is on it and another person puts a version of what it is."
