WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Episode 4, "The Whole World Is Watching," now streaming on Disney+.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has its fair share of theories as to who will show up in the series, but producer Nate Moore confirmed that Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther will not be one of them.

"No. I can say. That is not going to happen," Moore told Vanity Fair. "I would be honest if it was. Chad's passing is a whole life thing, and I loved the guy as much as the character. I think we have to be very careful and thoughtful about when he appears, because he meant so much to a lot of people as much as he meant to us. But yeah, we wouldn't use that as a 'Come next week; maybe you’ll see Panther!' We wouldn’t, and he’s not."

In Episode 3, "Power Broker," Ayo of the Dora Milaje confronted Bucky Barnes about his decision to free Helmut Zemo, the villain responsible for using the Winter Soldier to assassinate Wakanda's King T'Chaka in Captain America: Civil War. In Episode 4, "The Whole World is Watching," Ayo gives him eight hours to release Zemo into the custody of the Dora Milaje. When the Dora Milaje comes to collect him, John Walker gets in their way and an intense battle ensues.

The inclusion of Wakandans into the series fed the idea that Black Panther could come next. Boseman passed away in August of 2020, but Falcon and the Winter Soldier filmed from October 2019-March 2020, leading some to believe that there was time before the actor's passing for him to have shown up.

There are still several other Marvel Cinematic Universe characters that are in the running. Florence Pugh's Yelena Boleva and Eli Bradley's Patriot are a couple of names that have been mentioned, and even Wyatt Russell (who plays John Walker) hinted at the prospect of a Chris Evans cameo.
