The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's creative team had big plans for Joaquin Torres if the Disney+ series had more episodes.

Showrunner Malcolm Spellman and director Kari Skogland were recently interviewed by ET, where they discussed Torres' role in the series. "He was great. I can't tell you where it’s gonna go, but obviously, he's not in there for no reason," Spellman said. "He just lights up. If we had had 10 episodes, we had a giant storyline for him built out. But he does have plenty of real estate in these six."

Skogland added that it was "a joy" to work with Danny Ramirez, who plays Torres. "Besides talented, such a nice young man who has a huge career ahead of him for sure. We found him very early on… I think we're gonna be on his coattails as he takes off like a rocket. It's fun to see he and Anthony together, and the rapport that they have."

In Marvel Comics canon, Torres was transformed into an avian-human hybrid after being captured by the Sons of the Serpent. He was rescued by Sam Wilson, who was Captain America at the time, and became Wilson's new partner as the Falcon. In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Torres has served as a liaison to the Air Force for Wilson and accompanies him on missions.

Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly and Daniel Brühl. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
