Marvel Studios/Disney+'s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier destroyed several streaming and viewership records with its latest trailer during the NFL's Super Bowl LV.

The upcoming series focused on Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) and Sam Wilson/Falcon's (Anthony Mackie) competitive relationship while crime-fighting dropped a trailer that drew in 125 million viewers in 24 hours -- combined from "its ad spot and trailer's traffic," as reported by Deadline. Bucky and Sam shattered previous viewership records, including ones held by Marvel Cinematic Universe's Black Widow and WandaVision.

Black Widow previously released a trailer during 2020's Super Bowl, which drew in 119 million views within 24 hours. The MCU series also bested WandaVision's "trailer record holder for a streaming series." WandaVision's trailer debuted during September 2020's Primetime Emmy awards and brought in 53 million views.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's trailer, however, didn't stop at breaking records only held by MCU properties. Its trailer also demolished the final film of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which drew in 111 million views online after its trailer dropped during 2019's Star Wars Celebration event.

Socal media sources also cited that the show was "generated the highest Google Search volume amongst all entertainment offerings" and was "the fifth most searched Super Bowl spot on Sunday" from 89 spots overall.

The show's latest trailer opened with Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes attempting to work through their issues with one another, before jump-cutting into scenes showing Captain America: Civil War villain Baron Zemo returning for vengeance. The trailer also showed Sharon Carter/Agent 13 (Emily VanCamp) taking on a more action-packed role within the MCU. Of the few seconds we saw Carter, she takes on three thugs simultaneously, disposing of them easily with powerful and hard-hitting fighting skills.
