Disney+ released its August 2020 calendar, confirming premiere dates for X-Men, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Beauty and the Beast and 2005's Fantastic Four. However, one notable TV show was nowhere to be found.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Disney+'s first Marvel series, was left off the list, raising doubts that it will make its planned August 2020 premiere. While it is still possible for series to premiere next month, reports of the show resuming production in July make a summer debut unlikely.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will pick up after the events of Avengers: Endgame and will see the return of Marvel Cinematic Universe stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, respectively. Emily VanCamp will also return as Agent 13, with Daniel Brühl reprising his role as Zemo. Brühl was the central antagonist of Captain America: Civil War, while VanCamp's on-screen portrayal of Agent 13 only briefly appeared in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.

The series shut down production in early March after the coronavirus shuttered shoots across the globe. However, it received the green light to resume operations in early May.

Directed by Kari Skogland, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Wyatt Russell, Noah Mills, Carl Lumbly and Daniel Brühl. The series is scheduled to arrive on Disney+ in August, but coronavirus delays have raised doubts on it premiering on time.
